A Psalm of Praise

Psalm 145

I will extol You, my God, O King, And I will bless Your name forever and ever. Everyday I will bless You, And I will praise Your name forever and ever. Great in the Lord, and highly to be praised, And His greatness is unsearchable. One generation shall praise Your works to another, And shall declare Your mighty acts. On the glorious splendor of Your majesty And on Your works, I will meditate. Men shall speak of the power of Your awesome acts, And I will tell og Your greatness. They shall eagerly utter the memory of Your abundant goodness And will shout joyfully of Your righteousness.

The Lord is gracious and merciful; Slow to anger and great in lovingkindness. The Lord is good to all, And His mercies are over all His works. All Your works shall give thanks to You, O Lord, And Your godly ones shall bless You. They shall speak of the glory of Your Kingdom And talk of Your power; To make known to the sons of men Your mighty acts And the glory of the majesty of Your kingdom. Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, And Your dominion edures throughout all generations.

The Lord sustains all who fall And raises up all who are bowed down. The eyes of all look to Your, And You give them their food in die time. You open Your hand And satisfy the desire of every living thing.

The Lord is righteous in all His ways And kind in all His deeds. The Lord is near to all who call upon Him, To all who call upon Him in truth. He will fulfill the desire of those who fear Him; He will also hear their cry and will save them. The Lord keeps all who love Him, But all the wicked He will destroy. My mouth will speak the praise of the Lord, And all flesh will bless His holy name forever and ever.

At World End - Part 1

I thought with all the stuff going on in the Middle East I would make a series of posts on stuff going on in the news that would have to do wil the world ending and Jesus returning.

Here is some news that I find really neat below, This article can be found on Fox News'es website.

Medieval Psalmbook Dug Out of Irish Bog

Wednesday, July 26, 2006

Associated Press

DUBLIN, Ireland - Irish archaeologists Tuesday heralded the discovery of an ancient book of psalms by a construction worker who spotted something while driving the shovel of his backhoe into a bog.

The approximately 20- page book has been dated the years 800-1000. Trinity College manuscripts exper Bernard Meehan said it was the first discovery of an Irish early medieval document in two centuries.

"This is really a miracle find," said Pat Wallace, director of the National Museum of Ireland, Which has the book stored in refrigerator and facing years of painstaking analysis before being put on public display.

"There's two sets of odds that make this discovery really way out. First of all, it's unlikely that something this fragile could survive buried in a bog at all, and then for it to be unearthed and spotted before it was destroyed is incalculably more amazing."

He said an engineer was digging up bogland last week to create commercial pottting soil somewhere in Ireland's midlands when, "just beyond the bucket of his bulldozer, he spotted something."

Wallace would not specify where the book was found because a team of archaelogists is still exploring the site.

"The owner of the bog has had dealings witth us in past and is very much in favor of archaeological discovery and reporting it, "Wallace said.

Crucially, he said, the bog owner coverd up the book with damp soil.

Had it been left exposed overnightm he said, "It could have dried out and just vanished, blown away."

The book was found open to a page describing, in Latin script, Psalm 83, in which God hears complaints of other nations' attempts to wipe out the name of Israel.

Wallace said several experts spend Tuesday analyzing only that page - the number of letters on each line, lines on each page, size of page - and the book's binding and cover, which he described as "leather velum, very thick wallet in appearance."

It could take months of study, he said, just to identify the safest way to pry open the pages without damaging or destroying them. He ruled out the use of X-rays to investigate without moving the pages.

Ireland already has several other holy books from early medieval period, including the ornately illustrated Book of Kells, which has been on display at Trinity College in Dublin since the 19tth century.

The link to this artical is here.

Now! What does Psalm 83 say? Well I happen to have my handy dandy Bible here.

Psalm 83
O God, Do not remain quiet; Do not be silent and, O God, do not be still. For behold, Your enemies make an uproar, And those who hate You have exalted themselves. They make shrewd plans against Your people, And conspire togethor against Your people, And conspire togethor against Your treasured ones. They have said, "Come, and let us wipe them out as a nation, That the name of Israel be remembered nor more." For they have conspired together with one mind; Against You they make a covenant: The tents of Edon and the Ishmaelites, Moab and Hagrits; Gebal and Ammn and Amalek, Philistia with the inhabitants of Tyre; Assyria also has joined with them; They have become a help to the children of Lot. Deal with them as with Midian, As with Sisera and JAbin at the torrent of Kibshon, Who were destroyed at En-dor, Who became as dung for the ground. Make their nobles like Oreb and Zeeb And all their princes like Zebah and Zalmunna, Who said, "Let us possess for ourselves The pastures of God." O my God, make them like the whirling dust, like chaff before the wind. Like fire that burns the forest. And like a flame that sets the mountains on fire, So pursue them with Your tempest And terrify them with Your storm. Fill their faces with dishonor, That they may seek Your name, O Lord. Let them be ashamed and dismayed forever, And let them be humiliated and perish, That they may know that You alone, whose name is the Lord, Are the Most High over all the earth.

I find this very interesting!

Words of Wisdom

(Luke 6:45) "The good man out of good treasure of his heart brings forth what is good; and the evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth what is evil, for his mouth speaks from that which fills his heart."

(Matthew 6: 19-21) "Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steel. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, and where theives do not break in or steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also."

(Matthew 13: 44,45) "The Kingdom of heaven is like a treasure hidden in the field, which a man found and hid again; and from joy over it he goes and sells all that he has and buys the field." "Again, the Kingdom of heaven is like a merchant seeking fine pearls, and upon finding one pearl of great value, he went and sold all that he had and bought it."

I love those verses. They talk about how we here on earth try to store up treasures for ourselfs, treasures that we can't take with us to heaven. To many times we focus on what we want. We want bigger, better and more stuff, even at times I find myself guilty of that. At times I set here and think why do I need more and more? We are here on earth only for a short time.

So why are we spending what time we have here on earth to collect more stuff, creating false treasures. We should spend what time we do have on earth spreading the gospel to a dieing world, and lifting each other up as brothers and sisters in Christ. Only then are we storing up real treasures in heaven, treasures that will last forever and forever and forever. Think about it, we are only here on this earth for 80 years. We will be in heaven for ever and ever and ever with no end. I want those treasures, I want the ones that will last forever.

There is a diffrence bettween wants and needs.

Top Ten

Here is a funny thing I found off the web. Enjoy

Top Ten Ways the Bible would be diffrent if it were written by college students.

10. Last Supper would have been eaten the next morning col.

9. The Ten Commandments are actually only five, double-spaced, and written in large font.

8. New edition every two years in order to limit reselling.

7. Forbidden fruit would have been eaten because it wasn't cafeteria.

6. Paul's letter to the Romans becomes Paul's e-mail to abuse@romans.gov

5. Reason Cain killed Abel: They were roommates.

4. The place where the end of the world occurs: Finals, not Armageddon

3. Out go the mules, in come the mountain bikes.

2. Reasons why Moses and followers walked in the desert for 40 years: They didn't want to ask for directions and look like freshmen.

1. Instead of God creating the world in six days and resting on the seventh, He would have put it off until the night before it was due and then pulled and all-nighter.

My Week!

I had a awesome week and I would have posted about it if I could have gotten a good internet connection. But I couldn't because my sister and I were spending the week with my grandparents which was tons of fun. I think I gained ten pounds from all the food I ate. But I quickly burnt it off by spending a few hours in the hot 100 degree weather in Dayton Ohio!

Anyways I have a few new updates on my life. The first updates, the golden doors on the side of my car have now been painted white to match the rest of the car and it looks great! Secound I called Boyce College yesterday to see were I would be placed and who my roomate would be, so my roomate will be "John Letoto!" Just kidding John! Anyways I found out that I will get the handy cap room on the forth floor with "NO!" roommate. Which is awesome! But that dosn't mean I will be having everyone over for partys! lol! Third, I have new crutches and Finally, "MY LEG FEELS GREAT AND I CAN'T WAIT TO HEAD BACK TO KENTUCKY! God is good and life is good!

Gotta Love Photoshop!

So as you can tell I got bored. So I played around with photoshop placing a image of my friend in the picture I created! Fun stuff!

Thirsty

(Psalm 63:1)- O God, You are my God; I shall seek You earnestly: My soul thirsts for you, my flesh yearns for you, In a dry and weary land where there is no water.

(Matthew 5:6)- "Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied."

(Hebrews 11:6)- And without faith, it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a reward of those who seek Him.

If we want to truly grow in Christ we must have a true hunger and thirst for him. Not a hunger or thirst that is replaced by worldly lust. We must seek out our father in heaven.

Captain....Jack....is Back!!!!!! My Movie Review!

What can I say, Captain Jack Sparrow is back! And it is funnier than ever! First off this movie was great in so many ways. One being that it is completely original and not a rehash of the first movie. Secound, the action is nonstop and the sword fights are amazing. Third, Seeing Elisabeth Swan fight with swords and shoot guns, heck yah! last, Its a great adventure worth every penny. Let me just say when you first see the movie, the some what drop ending will shock you and give you more questions, "Me and my friend John are thinking we have the third plot figured out and how Jack will have his grand entrance.

The plot of the movie dosen't come to a conclusion,"Why?" Because there will be another. This movie mostly builds up to the third movie, which will rock! The only bad thing is that the movie takes a while before is gets to sail, because of corse in the beginning Jack Sparrow finds himself in trouble again. Well I cant really say much more about the movie without destroying the plot for you. All I can say is, "I cant wait to the next one!"

10 out of 10 stars

p.s. You will love Jack Sparrows first scene, it's classic!

My Review on "Superman Returns"

So today me and my friend John Morton finally got around to seeing Superman Returns. But was it worth laying down your money to go see? My answer, "Heck Yes!" It was worth every penny. I will now tell you how great the movie is without spoiling the great plot points to you. But as you all do know that the movie does take place after the old superman movies and that superman has been gone from earth for a few years in search for his parents home world. But when superman returns to earth after a few years he finds the world in danger.

At first I didn't know what to expect, but then I was quickly was thrown into the action and drama of the movie, when superman first returns to earth he comes with a "bang!" And kicks some bad guy butt! I love the story and characters in this movie, it has so much depth, drama and plot twists that catch you way off gaurd right when you think you have to movie figured out. Some scene's are so emotional, dramatic and sad that you cant help to say, "WOW! I didn't see that coming." There isn't much more I can say without spoiling the rest of the movie to you, but it is one of they best Super Hero movie's, it may even be better than Spiderman.

I give this movie a 10 out of a 10: "A MUST SEE FOR MOVIE FANS!"
